Hi everyone.

I was going to write this during the 'landing on the beach' aftermath, but could never find the right moment. Now seems a good time...

Having brought the rum ashore from the galleon I wandered around a bit.

And I noticed that there was a fire kindled, around which we were gathering and telling stories. But it wasn't just us that were listening by the fire. There were children there too, listening and telling their own stories. And also the 'other than humans' were gathering there with us. They were just as much part of the storytelling and listening.

There was plenty of space and fire for whoever wanted to be there. And there was time enough for whatever stories were being told.

Further away from the shore was a cave. In there a fire could be lit for storytelling in the company of ancestors. And any who wished could take part in this. The twisting flames would throw shadows on the surrounding walls, revealing hidden aspects of the beings and of their stories.

Extra bit:

Having just caught up with the last live call, I had a vision of people collecting ashes from the storytelling fires to carry with them on their travels and to incorporate into their next fire. That way there was always a link with the first landing and the others, no matter where in the world the travellers went......
